Women's History Month

Writer: Raices MediaRaices Media

Alright ladies, let's get real about connection this Women's History Month!

We've all been there—sitting at networking events, cards in hand, wondering if we're actually making meaningful connections or just collecting LinkedIn contacts or scanning digital business cards. At the Women's Chamber, we believe in cutting through all that and building the real deal: relationships that lift us all up.

This month, we're putting the spotlight on what happens when we ditch the outdated "there can only be one woman at the table" mentality and instead grab extra chairs for our sisters.

We've rounded up a series of our badass board members who walk this talk daily. These women aren't just successful in their own lanes—they're actively creating space for others to thrive alongside them.

So pour yourself whatever you're drinking (no judgment here), and dive into some honest conversation about what it means to choose collaboration over competition in 2025.

These are your women, your girl’s girl, your chamber—keeping it 100% real.

Eiesha doesn't just talk about supporting women—she's built her entire life around it. As the founder of Shattered Voices Unheard, she's created a lifeline for women rebuilding after domestic violence, turning her own experiences into a platform that lifts others. If you need someone who'll stand in your corner when things get tough, Eiesha's your woman.

What advice would you give to women looking to build meaningful connections in their industry?

No matter what room you walk in, enter that room with an open heart- ready to connect. Looking for nothing in return except a great conversation. Partnerships, relationships, and collaborations aren’t built overnight. Conversations are far more golden than money, because every path that you cross won’t be about getting paid. Some pathways and conversations only come to help you grow and get to the next level on your journeys.

Chanae is that rare combination of legal brilliance and soulful wisdom. By day, she's navigating complex municipal law, shaping the literal landscape of our communities. By passion, she's the force behind ROM8 Wellness and the Envision Me Conference, creating spaces where women can connect with their purpose and each other. Whether you need legal advice or life advice, Chanae brings the same thoughtful approach to both—helping women build foundations that won't crack under pressure.

Shoutout One Woman who has marked your life in a significant way? Drop those flowers!

I have to give my flowers to the strongest woman I know, my mother, Cheryl Forshee. Raising ten children takes an extraordinary amount of resilience, sacrifice, and love. She taught me the power of perseverance, faith, and community, and those lessons have shaped every aspect of my life. Because of her, I understand the importance of showing up, supporting others, and creating opportunities for the next generation.

Let's be real—Nandy is out here crushing it in not one but THREE typically male-dominated fields while raising a daughter and running two businesses. As co-owner of Boss Babes of South Florida, she's created a space where women entrepreneurs can show up authentically and find the support they need. Nandy doesn't just want a seat at the table—she's building new tables and making sure they've got plenty of room for other women to join her.

What does “Collaboration Over Competition” mean to you, and how do you embody it?

"Collaboration Over Competition" means understanding that success is not a solo journey. When women uplift each other, we create limitless opportunities that extend far beyond what we could achieve alone. I embody this by fostering a community where women feel supported, empowered, and inspired through Boss Babes of South Florida. Whether it’s sharing resources, offering guidance, or creating spaces where women can grow together, I believe that when we collaborate, we all win—and that’s the true mark of success.

For 16+ years, Jordana has been showing up for the people in our community who need it most. Through Young Dreams Community Outreach, she's supported everyone from kids to seniors facing tough times. Her motorcycle initiative, Respect the Ride, turned personal passion into community action. As our Director of Community Outreach, Jordana doesn't just talk about making connections—she's the actual bridge, linking people to resources, opportunities, and each other when it matters most.

What advice would you give to women looking to build meaningful connections in their industry?

Be authentic, intentional and willing to support others. Join groups, and attend events where you can engage with the intention to build long lasting relationships. Stay open to learning new things. Ask questions, support and uplift others. Follow up, check in, and share opportunities. Lastly, always surround yourself with people who inspire and challenge you to grow.

Taking inspiration from our amazing board members, here are practical tools to help you build those meaningful connections they've been talking about:

  • "What's a challenge in your business right now that keeps you up at night?"

  • "What's something you've mastered that most people in your industry struggle with?"

  • "Who's been the most unexpected supporter in your journey?"

  • "What's a skill you're trying to develop this year?"

Save these to your phone notes for your next networking event - they'll take you beyond small talk to conversations that actually matter.

  • Otter.ai - Free transcription app to capture important conversation details

  • Calendly - Free scheduling tool that eliminates the back-and-forth

  • Pocket - Save articles to share with new connections based on their interests

The most valuable connection tool isn't an app or a template—it's showing up consistently with genuine curiosity about other women's journeys.

Ok queens, so stop scrolling, start connecting, and watch what happens when women refuse to compete and choose to create together instead.
